The Kansas City metro dominated USA Today‘s “Best Burnt Ends Sandwich in Kansas/Missouri” contest, and a relative newcomer took the top spot.
USA Today calls burnt ends “true nuggets of barbecue gold,” and Plowboys Barbecue has the best.
Plowboys Barbecue, which came out on top, opened its first location in 2013 in Blue Springs and recently announced the planned expansion of its downtown Kansas City location. According to co-owner and founder Todd Johns, the No. 1 seller is pulled pork, but that may change now that Plowboys is being recognized for its burnt ends.
