Members of the online BBQ community BBQ Brethren often trade sauces and rubs from different parts of the country. The idea is to share the regional BBQ products with those likely can’t find locally. The way it works is that people are paired up from different parts of the country. Each agrees to send at least a couple sauces and a couple rubs. These can be products that you buy or make yourself. No money for product or shipping is exchanged because it is assumed that that value will be in the neighborhood of each other. Often, other items are sent along for fun that the other person may enjoy. Above is the picture of what I received in our mid December, 2006 trade. My trader was from the Des Moines, Iowa area. I tought that being so close to Des Moines from Kansas City that I’d get a lot of the same products that I could buy locally. That wasn’t true. Another trade is coming up and I can’t wait.
Everything in the box I received was good. Not a dud in the bunch. But the two products that I really liked and will buy again are the jalapeno stuffed olives and the Lynch BBQ Sweet Rub. That rub product is fantastic.
